Background

I’ve spent most of my life in the Bay Area. It’s where I was born and call home. My wife and I come from very large families (we are both the oldest of 8) and family has always been a big part of our lives. My inspiration to be an entrepreneur comes from both my Mom’s side (where my grandfather launched a successful investment firm which later IPO’d) and my Dad’s side (my grandfather and his brother ran a semiconductor manufacturing plant as well as several other businesses).

Despite choosing the “safe” path after graduating college and working for several brand-name companies, I’ve always felt the tug of entrepreneurship. My wife and I, for example, built a successful real estate portfolio by investing our W2 money into residential income properties around the Bay Area as well as Morocco. Through investing, I found myself inspired in a way that no “normal” job could provide. This feeling came to a head when I was laid off from my prior company. I decided to invest in myself, fully, and commit to buying a company.

Qualifications

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Cell biology as well as an MBA from INSEAD. I have 11 years of experience working in strategy and operations roles supporting large pharmaceutical companies, startups, and healthcare providers. I am also the owner of a 9-door residential real estate portfolio based in the East Bay as well as Morocco.

I have strong support network of connections who can support me through this transaction. My wife will be my partner and financial advisor in this venture. She is a commercial banker who has 10 years of experience in small business financing / underwriting. I also have several advisors who recently sold their small businesses to provide mentorship, as well as group of like-minded investors to provide support. To reiterate, this isn’t a “search fund”. I have no investors. I hope to finance this deal through a combination of personal funds, nominal seller financing, and bank debt.
